Hello,
You've stumbled across the campaign of a professional problem solver with an ethical approach to governing! You will learn where I came from and how I will use this experience to work together in keeping our community the beautiful place it is!
My platform can be summarized in a word, I call it the CODE! Every promise will be rooted in one of these key areas:
Organization
Democracy
Environment
(Full articles on each coming soon!)
My background is a unique mix of things that prepared me for the honour of working with this community. I spent 8 years working for a Collection Agency where I learned first-hand about how systems make life harder for people. I spent the last half of my career there working in management and finished my days there as a Recruiting Officer for the company. Meeting people and finding common ground comes quite easy for me.
Next, I worked doing collections for a Transport company for four years where I had exposure to the business side of Accounts Receivable, working with many different companies keeping their accounts up to date.
For hte last 8 years I have been working as a Federal Public Servant doing Emergency Dispatch. I am proud of the work I do within the Public Safety network. It is a job that I love even to this day. I spent a few years serving as the regional union representative which allowed me to see a whole different side of things when it comes to dealing with Government while representing a specific community with their own unique needs. Bargaining, Grievances and Disciplinary action were just a few of the big learning opportunities I was able to do there. This last phase of my career is what has inspired me to stand up and proudly work to improve the place I call home.
Prior to my professional career, I spent my early twenties in the local music scene. This prepared me for community building and networking. I would curate live events that highlighted some of the best talent Winnipeg had to offer. Collaboration has been the spirit of almost everything I do. Whether it be a hobby or a career.
As I stated earlier, my resume can be summarized as a professional problem solver. This is experience that will have us best represented at City Hall this fall!
Looking forward to hearing about you.
